Summer Story Tent

Join TFRC & Sackville Public Library for Summer Story Tent and some reading fun.  Join the free rewards club and receive free books.  Lots of new books in the book box for this year many from local authors!    Celebrate the first Story Tent of the summer with the bouncy castle and face painting.  Looking forward to seeing you there.  If it's raining find us inside the library.

Literacy Sacks Launch with Music Together Sackville

Join us for a free Music Together Sackville session during Tots Story Time at the Sackville Public Library as we launch the Another Step Literacy Sacks.    

The sacks are designed as literacy aids for parents/caregivers and contain numerous books, games and puppets to make literacy fun.   Designed for ages 3 and up and for use under supervision of a parent/caregiver, sacks can be loaned for 3 weeks as you would other library materials.  

There are 6 themes: Music, Animals, Colours, Letters, Numbers and Shapes.  

We thank the Government of NB for providing a Literacy grant and our Community partners: Daybreak, Music Together Sackville, Talk With Me! for making this sacks a reality.

The Tantramar Family Resource Centre, Town of Sackville and Canadian Mental Health Association of NB, in partnership with our provincial Dept. of Wellness, would like to invite you to participate in the Tantramar Health & Wellness Expo. The Expo will be held on May 5, 2018, at Tantramar Regional High School from 10 am to 2 pm 

The expo is designed to expose Tantramar residents of all ages to the wealth of locally available organizations that offer activities and programs to encourage and support health and wellness.

Come play!  This free 4 week session explores the best play routines and toys for baby.   Parents learn ways to build baby’s communication skills as well as ways to boast baby’s brain development through play.   This program is ideally suited for babies aged birth to approximately 12 months.

You and your baby are invited to come explore the world of books.   During this session, you will hear a story and a rhyme or two to share with babies.   You will also get information on choosing age-appropriate books and how to best share stories with your child.   This session is geared to babies aged newborn to approximately 12 months.    This free session will be held at the Tantramar Regional High School on the afternoon of March 14th at 2pm.

The Parent-Child Mother Goose Program® is being offered again in Sackville.

This  6 week program for Adults and Children (ages 12 months to 3 years) is being held at Tantramar High School on Tuesday Mornings, 9:30 am to 10:30 am starting November 14, 2017 and running until Dec 19.

Come cuddle, talk and have fun with your child or children and enjoy learning and sharing rhymes, songs and stories!

Coat Drive!

Do you have new or gently used winter gear sitting unworn in your closet? Have your kids outgrown their old jackets and ski pants? Want to help out another family in Sackville this Christmas? 

The Tantramar Family Resource Centre is hosting our annual coat drive, in partnership with Christmas Cheer!

Donations can be dropped off at the Sackville Post Office (86 Main St) until December, when we will distribute the winter wear to the less fortunate in our area.  

All donations are greatly appreciated, we couldn't run drives like these without community support!

What is a car seat safety clinic? A technician will ensure that your car seat is in good condition and is properly installed in your car (each appointment is less than 30 minutes)

What is a Raspberry Jam? It's a free workshop for kids 10 and up that teaches them how to build a computer from scratch using the Raspberry Pi computer kits. This workshop will provide kids with all the steps necessary to build their own working computer. (https://www.raspberrypi.org/)

The TFRC is partnering with ArtHive Sackville to bring you Summer ArtHive! 

Join us first for Summer Story Tent at the Library (9 am - 11 am) and then at the Daybreak Activity Centre (back of 64 Main St) for some free monster-themed book-making (11 am to 1 pm). Snacks will be provided.

The Sackville Art Hive is a community art studio that welcomes everyone as an artist. The TFRC is pleased to offer this event in partnership with ArtHive to bring this event for kids of all ages and their families.
